Mountain View is located in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. It has been named "Folk Music Capital of the World" and for good reason. Musicians still gather to play on the courthouse square as they did years ago. Just about every night of the week during fair weather season, you will find gatherings of musicians playing traditional hill music, folk music and bluegrass or gospel. Folks bring lawn chairs and go from group to group, taking in the sounds.

Stroll around the square and browse the many shops filled with a variety of products made as they were a century or more ago. There are gift shops, antique and flea markets and specialty shops. The Arkansas Craft Guild offers traditional and contemporary crafts made by local artists at the Arkansas Craft Gallery.

Enjoy old time celebrations that are part of the many festivals, parades and holiday activities that bring the community together in fellowship. Visit the Arkansas State Tourism Web Site for more info!
